"Meyer is an amiable narrator, and he introduces the reader to some of China's greatest paradoxes; notably a pride in history that coexists with a compulsion to destroy the past. Some reviewers indicate she is egocentric. Sarah Prineas' story left me feeling like I rode a great roller coaster: breathless, tears on my cheeks, a little dizzy, and ready to ride again. I believe every teen and young adult could be empowered by the examples of challenges and life lessons.
